Our Residents Get Gardening

At Bowood Court and Mews Care Home, we take pride in our home and facilities. There is always something to keep our residents entertained, engaged and excited for the day, whatever the season.

However, a resident favourite continues to be helping out in the garden. Whether that's keeping our plants well fed in the drier months or planting beautiful flowers to keep our garden colourful, our residents love to spend as much time out there as possible.

Throughout the warmer months, our residents have taken full advantage of the sunshine, using our raised planters and accessible equipment to tend to our array of plants. Some even took part in our friendly sunflower competition. Our green-thumbed residents worked hard to grow the largest sunflower, encouraging them to get involved in new hobbies, spend time outdoors, and enjoy the many benefits of gardening.

It was wonderful to see everyone's enthusiasm and dedication as the sunflowers grew taller than us! A huge congratulations to Trevor, who earned the title of biggest sunflower, which not only added a splash of colour to our garden but gave him a real sense of pride.

Spending time outdoors and getting involved in an activity brings many benefits for our residents. Being outside provides fresh air, natural sunlight and the opportunity to enjoy the changing seasons. Of course, you don't always need to be busy when you're outside. Our residents also enjoy sitting on our benches, watching the fascinating wildlife in Worcestershire and chatting with friends.

Whether our residents want to pull up their sleeves or simply sit back and relax, our beautifully landscaped garden is perfect for socialising, sharing gardening knowledge and enjoying the sunshine or falling leaves.
