Bowood Court Couple Celebrate 65 Years of Marriage

Bowood Court Care Home celebrates 65 years of marriage

Residents, relatives and team members at Bowood Court Care Home in Redditch gathered recently to celebrate a remarkable milestone as Colin and Christine Caswell marked their 65th wedding anniversary.

Colin, 84, and Christine, 83, celebrated their blue sapphire anniversary with family, friends and fellow residents in Bowood Court’s pub. Guests enjoyed a specially made celebration cake prepared by the couple’s family, while sharing memories from their many happy years together.

The occasion was made even more memorable when Bowood Court Administrator Judy Walker presented Colin and Christine with an official congratulatory card from Their Majesties The King and Queen.

The presentation held particular significance for Judy, as Colin had taught her to drive many years earlier.
Colin is well known within the local community, having worked for many years as a respected driving instructor and helped countless people pass their driving tests. He also served in the local fire brigade, making a lasting contribution to the Redditch community.

Asked to reveal the secret to a long and happy marriage, Colin smiled and joked:
“Going fishing at the weekend!”

Pauline Vernon, Home Manager at Bowood Court Care Home, said:
“It was such a lovely celebration and a privilege to share this milestone with Colin and Christine. They are a wonderful couple and are very much loved by everyone here.”

The celebration was filled with laughter, treasured memories and heartfelt moments as everyone came together to recognise Colin and Christine’s incredible 65 years of marriage.
